Welcome to My Journey

Hello! My name is Ivy Muchai. While I have other names, I find it easier to introduce myself with these two. I am born again, and God is my savior. I never imagined I would want to write a blog, mainly because my friends have beautiful blogs, and I never considered myself a writer. However, my mum has always encouraged me to write, and those who have heard my childhood stories have urged me to share them. So, here I am, starting this blog.

I come from two incredible parents to whom I will always be grateful. They have sacrificed everything for me, and I pray I always make them proud. I hope they know I am in awe of them and the life they have built together. I have several siblings, and our relationship changes with every season, but I wouldn't be who I am without them. My God-mum is my bestie and the best person ever. My favorite person is my grandmother; she is who I want to be when I grow up. She is my God-sent solace.

I love reading books that inspire me, romance, thrillers, crime, and horror. and I get that from my mother she instilled the reading culture in us when we were young. Music is a love language to me, and I can easily tell what someone is trying to communicate with the type of music they send me. I enjoy almost every genre and love to listen to the lyrics, imagining what the artist was experiencing. I have a love-hate relationship with my voice, but I'll explain that later. I love flowers, candy, farming, and sunsets. I adore animals with all my heart. I have five cats and Loki, my cute-as-a-button dog, who loves to hug and terrorize the cats. Thanks to my parents, I can't survive without the noise of chicken. I love the process of taking care of them, even though it is tiresome. I have a small garden that I love to tend to, and I am growing to become like my grandmother and mother, who seem to enjoy farming.

I believe in the process of falling in love with every version of yourself. Who you were yesterday is not who you are today, and who you will be tomorrow. Every version of you deserves to be loved. I am a girl who believes in love because of watching my parents and hearing the stories my grandmother tells me about my grandfather, who left us quite early but will always be in our hearts it inspires me.

My blog will be a mixture of my childhood stories, various topics that pop into my head, and my deep thoughts that sometimes keep me up at night because the voices in my head never shut up. I decided to do something about it, and if you are like me, I want you to know that your thoughts are validated. I am an avid overthinker and need to explore every possible scenario to understand why and how things are happening.

I will never tell you what to do in some scenarios, but I will share what I do and what I think, and I hope you will feel comfortable subscribing and telling me what I can improve on. I wish I had a better introduction, but this is it. Welcome to my journey so far. I pray it will not be ephemeral.

Remember, sometimes we make the process more complicated than we need to. We will never make a journey of a thousand miles by fretting about how long it will take or how hard it will be. We make the journey by taking each day step by step and then repeating it again and again until we reach our destination. — Joseph B. Wirthlin
